SNMP Check

SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a networking monitoring protocol that may be used for querying the status of server hardware and any SNMP enabled attached network devices such as switched, routers, UPS units, or servers running non-Windows Operating Systems such as Linux, Unix or OSX (if SNMP is enabled).

SNMP management software sends Protocol Data Units (PDUs) to SNMP agents, which contain OID (Object Identifiers) defined in the MIB (Management Information Base) loaded by the SNMP management software. The MIB is a database that defines exactly what the SNMP management software can monitor on that device. Everything that can be monitored is allocated a unique OID.

The Advanced Monitoring Agent queries the SNMP management software and sends the results to the DashBoard, generating an Alert where the returned result does not meet the expected range or value. The Advanced Monitoring Agent itself does not generate any SNMP messages.

Automated Tasks

Networks don’t look after themselves and in order to keep servers and workstations in tip-top working order, preventative maintenance such as defragmenting disks must be performed regularly. It is of course time consuming to log onto each server or workstation on a network start to a disk defragmentation and then subsequently check that it has run successfully, which is why we have added Automated Tasks for Servers and Workstations.

Automated Tasks for Servers and Workstations allows you to safely run preventative maintenance tasks such as defragmenting disks, clearing out event logs, clearing out temporary files and custom scripts on individual servers and workstations, as well as all workstations at a site, either on a schedule you choose or when a check fails, all from the DashBoard.

Best of all, you can then monitor the progress of each task on each server or workstation and view the results of what each task has done in your DashBoard

After installing the Agent we realise that you may not want to log on to the server every time there is a change to be made to the configuration of a check.  DashBoard Controls allow you to add, edit or delete checks on your installed Agents remotely via the DashBoard

External PING check

Trellis provides a service of PINGING your server or network every 5 minutes.  Appropriate network configurations will be recommended to allow for the desired result.

Check frequency Increase to every 5 Minutes

Increase checks to a frequency of every 5 minutes in lieu of the standard 15 minute check.  Can also be done for workstations if they are monitored as servers

Check frequency Increase to every 30 Minutes

Increase workstation checks to a frequency of every 15 minutes in lieu of the standard 30 minute check. 

Add server alerts to work stations

Increase checks to a frequency of every 15 minutes in lieu of the standard 60 minute check standard for workstations.
